Discover the world of railroading while earning your STEM Career Exploration Badge during this unique experience at the North Carolina Transportation Museum. Scouts will have the opportunity to explore the past, present, and future of the Railroading industry as they participate in three industry-focused classes: ‘STEM Railroading Careers’, ‘Evolution of the Railroad’, and ‘Women Making History’. Girl Scouts of all ages are invited to partake in this exciting event! A train ride, turntable ride, all event activities, lunch, and a fun patch are included with your registration fee. Scouts will also receive their “STEM Career Exploration Badge” at the end of the event.
Girl Scout Event Registration Cost
Cost is $30 plus a $5.10 tax and handling fee for a total of $35.10 per participant.*
*Please Note: We require at least one Troop Leader/Adult Chaperone per attending rank to purchase an “Adult” registration ticket and to remain with their Scouts/Troop throughout the duration of the event. All other attending adults/siblings who will not be participating in the event may pay a non-activity fee and for a train ride/turntable ride during check in the day of the event. Please note that by paying the non-activity fee you will be opting out of the provided lunch, and we cannot ensure that additional space within the event classrooms will be available.

Saturday Event Schedule
Participating Scouts will be divided into groups based on rank and will be given either AM class schedules or PM class schedules to follow throughout the duration of the event.

- 9:00am-9:40am: Check-In at the Barber Junction Visitor’s Center

- AM Class Groups (Daisies, Brownies, Juniors)
- 9:50am-11:40am: Badge Classes/Activities
- 11:50am-12:30pm: Lunch
- 12:40pm-12:50pm: Train Boarding
- 1:00pm-1:30pm: Train Ride
- 1:40pm-3:15pm: Free Time (Scavenger Hunt, SWAP Craft, Turntable Rides, Gift Station)
- 3:30pm: Closing Remarks and SWAP
- PM Class Groups (Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors)
- 9:45am-9:55am: Train Boarding
- 10:00am-10:30am: Train Ride
- 10:40am-12:15pm: Free Time (Scavenger Hunt, SWAP Craft, Turntable Rides, Gift Station)
- 12:20pm-1:00pm: Lunch
- 1:10pm-3:15pm: Badge Classes/Activities
