Virtual ProgramsCan’t bring your class to the N.C. Transportation Museum?
Let the museum come to you in a virtual program. These programs are a great way to start or wrap-up a unit.
The virtual program will be led by a museum educator. During the program, students will watch a short pre-recorded video that go behind the scenes at the museum. After each video, the museum educator will lead a live question and answer discussion with students. Teachers will receive additional resources to use in the classroom that may include writing activities, games, art and math.
Teachers can choose between two virtual programs.
Wind & Wings
focuses on the Wright Brothers and their impact on North Carolina history.
The Great Philadelphia Wagon Road
looks at the challenges settlers faced while traveling from Pennsylvania to North Carolina.
Programs are geared towards 3rd, 4th and 5th grade curriculums. Both are 30-minute programs available on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. with a minimum of 8 and maximum of 30 per program. Registration ends 2 weeks before live program. Teachers are responsible to host the program with school approved video conferencing software.
