Legends by Lantern Tours

“Legends by Lantern” celebrates the numerous railroad legends in North Carolina folklore.
Come join us for “Legends by Lantern” where we trace the stories and tales of North Carolina Transportation folklore. Beginning at the Barber Junction Visitor’s Center, the lantern-light tour will visit numerous buildings on site. Join our guides and learn about tragedies of the past, and the rumors surrounding them. If you enjoy lantern tours and old-fashioned legends, this tour is definitely for you.
NOTE: Please bring a flashlight, water bottle, and bug spray. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for weather conditions as much of the tour will be outside and in unheated industrial buildings.
APPROPRIATE FOR KIDS: The Legends by Lantern tour is appropriate for children over the age of six and adults of all ages. This is not a “Ghost Walk” or “Haunted Trail” and nobody will be intentionally frightened.
