Summer Fun Days

The hottest season of the year is quickly approaching and so are our Summer Fun Days! Join us for one, or all, of these special fun filled days, where kids of all ages can participate in craft/activity stations pertaining to one of four themes; Aviation and Space, Wagon Trail Days, Caboose Train Days, and Ice Cream Days. We hope to see you this summer at The Museum That Moves You!

Aviation & Space Days

Come one, come all aviation hobbyist as we will have an out of this world experience as they make their very own clay planet bracelet and moon phase chart, build and decorate your very own balsa wood glider, experiment with our interactive wind tunnels, and participate in other space/aviation related activities.

Wagon Trail Days

Step back in time and celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary with a day of hands-on fun! Discover how families traveled long ago by exploring wagons and wagon life through exciting activities. Kids can try their hand at wagon making, learn how to pack a wagon for a big journey, and create their very own compass to guide the way. It’s a trail-blazing adventure full of history, creativity, and fun!

Ice Cream Days

All are invited to join us for a sweet journey through the history of ice cream. Participants will get crafty in our craft zone, take part in ice cream-related activities, create their own sample of ice cream, and enjoy a scoop of Hershey’s ice cream with their favorite toppings.  Dairy free options are available.  Train rides can be added for an additional fee. Train ride times are at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., & 1 p.m.

Caboose Train Days

Aspiring railroaders will explore the caboose, a train car that served as the conductor’s office during movement of the train. Enjoy caboose-related activities such as designing your own caboose, lacing cabooses together, build a caboose or train car using magnetic tiles, and more. This theme includes train rides, which rarely happen on a Tuesday. Times for the train rides are at 10am, 11am, and 1pm and are an additional price with museum admission.

Note: Cabooses are not ADA accessible due to the vintage nature of their construction, however an ADA car is available on the train ride, with wheelchair spaces and companion seating.
