Memberships are valid for 12 months from date of purchase.
If you are a new member or a member who is rejoining after a lapsed period, you will receive your membership number in a packet mailed to you within 3-4 weeks of the N.C. Transportation Museum receiving your membership submission. If you need it before then, please email Elaine Holden at elaine.holden@nctransportationmuseum.org.
Special & Premium Events are defined as any event that may require visitors to pay a fee that is higher than General Admission. Special and Premium Events take place throughout the entire museum or after the museum’s regular hours, so no General Admission option is available on those days (or evenings) and ALL visitors on site are required to pay the Special or Premium Event Admission. Members may receive free or discounted admission and train rides for Special Events. Members are offered a discount on Day Out with Thomas™ event tickets (discount not valid on All Day Passes). There is no member discount on THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride.

The museum’s membership program is operated by the N.C. Transportation Museum Foundation, a non-profit group that provides support for preservation efforts and educational programs at the museum. A portion of your membership dues may be tax deductible. Please consult your tax preparer.
Membership Levels
Please note that effective January 1, 2015, in accordance with N.C. General Statute 105-164.4(a)(10), we are required to charge state and county sales tax (effective rate of 7%) on the admission portion of membership dues.
Individual & Companion Level Memberships
Senior Individual ($40 + $2.80 tax)
Core benefits for one individual senior adult (Ages 65+)
Individual ($50 + $3.50 tax)
Core benefits for one individual (Ages 3-64)
Companion ($70 + $4.90 tax)
Core benefits for two individuals (valid for up to two adults or one adult and one youth)
