Cub Scouts Transportation Explorer Day
March 7, 2026
9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Come out to the North Carolina Transportation Museum for a day of Scouting fun. All Cub Scouts, whether you’re a Lion, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, or Webelo/Arrow of Light, will have the opportunity to become a Transportation Explorer and complete the requirements for several transportation related Belt Loops/Pins. Participating Lions, Tigers, Wolves, and Bears will each earn two Adventure Loops while Webelo and Arrow of Light participants will earn one Adventure Pin. During the day, enjoy our Cub Scout Day activities, a train ride, scavenger hunt, and much more. Lunch will be provided for all event ticket holders. This is a great opportunity for cubs to interact with other packs/dens, make connections, and build relationships. We look forward to welcoming your Pack or Den to this exciting experience at The Museum that Moves You.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Pre-registration is required for this event. There are no exceptions to this policy.
Cost and Event Registration Information
Cub Scout Event Registration Cost
Cost is $30 plus a $5.10 tax and handling fee for a total of $35.10 per participant.*
*At least one responsible adult (leader/parent chaperone) per attending rank (Lion, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelo, and Arrow of Light) is required to purchase and “Adult” registration ticket and must remain with their scout(s) throughout the duration of the event. All other attending adults/children who will not be participating in the scouting event are not required to pay the Cub Scout Transportation Explorer Day event registration fee. Visitors who are not paying the Cub Scout Transportation Explorer Day registration fee will be opting out of the provided lunch and we cannot ensure that additional space within the event classrooms will be available.
Our Cub Scout Transportation Explorer Day event runs simultaneously with our Steam Over Spencer: A Live Steam Model Train Event, therefore any individuals not paying the Cub Scout Transportation Explorer Day fee will be asked to pay the Steam Over Spencer event fee to gain entrance to the Museum. Train Rides can be added for an additional cost. Please see below for the pricing schedule for the weekend.
Steam Over Spencer Event Cost (No Cub Scout Activities)
Steam Over Spencer events/activities are included in the Cub Scout Transportation Explorer Day registration. Only those NOT paying the Cub Scout Transportation Explorer Day registration fee will be required to pay the Steam Over Spencer: A Live Steam Model Train Event event fee to gain entrance to the Museum. Train Rides can be added for an additional cost.
